One of the most important novels regarding the meat-packing industry and the so-called muck-raking of American industry and labor. Nice copy, solid binding, corners straight, typical age scuffing to extremities, and darkening to page-ends on the text block, very clean pages inside. (How they determined this is a second state rather than a first, I don't know.) Still a first printing. The "1" in 1906 on the third line of the copyright page has a slight "battered" look towards the top, which according to other booksellers indicates a second state.
